please note: you need to have an active Chat Metrics subscription to make use of this article.
Step 1. Login to your Kentico admin backend
Step 2. Click on the flower icon and type ‘site’ in the search box
Step 3. On the sites page, you will see the list of sites under your Kentico account. Click on ‘import site or objects’ button as seen in the image below.
Step 4. Click on ‘upload package’ button and choose the directory where you downloaded the ‘Chat Metrics’ module/zip from Kentico marketplace and click next
Step 5. Select the ‘Chat Metrics’ zip file from your device location and click ‘open’.
Step 6. You should now see the module in the list. Select the module and click next.
Step 7. Scroll down and select the options as shown in the following image.
Step 8. Once you scroll down, select the following options
- Import files (recommended)
- Import code files
- Import custom assembly files
- Import global folders
Leave the rest as shown in the image below.
Step 9. After a successful installation, you will see a message like ‘Import has successfully finished’.
Step 10. Again click on the flower icon and type ‘page’ in the search box, then click on the ‘pages’ link.
Step 12. Once you are on page view, click ‘design’ tab.
note: Your page/layout may look different based on what theme you are using.
Step 13. Make sure you have the master page selected. Now click on ‘ZoneTop’ and select ‘add new web part’ from the dropdown as shown in the image below.
Step 14. Once are you in the select web part screen, type ‘Chat Metrics’ and hit enter.
Step 15. From the search results, click on ‘Chat Metrics (Managed Live Chat)’ and click on the select button on the bottom right.
Step 16. Once installed successfully, you will see the ‘Chat Metrics’ module on this page. Click n the menu icon and choose ‘configure’ from the list.
Step 17. On the configuration/web part properties screen, enter your Chat Metrics username and password in the fields and click ‘save and close’ button.
Step 18. Again, click on the flower icon and choose ‘Live site’ at the bottom left of the page. This will take you to the live site.
Step 19. Once the Chat Metrics module is successfully installed, the chat box will start to appear on the bottom right of your pages.
Note: the appearance of the chat box will vary based upon your business branding.
